Capital Projects

Although our initial focus was on providing tuition and boarding cost support for girls in Northern Pakistan, we have funded a number of capital projects in our geographical area of interest.

As we engaged with the community in our area of interest we found that students faced unnecessary difficulties in pursuing their education because the educational infrastructure was not in place due to budgetary challenges.  In many cases, the challenges were known but they did not rank high enough in priority because of the magnitude of the needs faced by the community.

Our initial engagement in Tajikistan was a small capital project related to the rehabilitation of a reading room in Rushan School number 9.  This project led to other projects in Rushan and then in the Bartang Valley.  We found some school in such dire need for capital improvements that we felt that these needs could not be ignored or minimized.

In other cases, where tragedy struck in the form of an earthquake, as in Ishkasim, Tajikistan, we stepped in to help rebuild some of the classrooms that were destroyed.

In all of these cases, our partner in Tajikistan, Ravshandilon was instrumental in getting the project properly defined and the work done effectively.  Our success is directly attributable to the work Ravshadilon did on the ground.

In Northern Pakistan, our capital projects have been centered around Sherqilla and Gahkuch.

Well in Gahkuch for a Girl’s Dormitory

Fresh Water Well in Gahkuch

In Gahkuch, we supported the girls dormitory by digging a well for fresh water.  Prior to this, the girls in the dormitory had limited access to water as they were dependent on water delivered by trucks.  It would not be unusual for girls to not have enough water to wash their hair for ten to twelve days.  Even in the dead of winter, they did not have access to even clean cold water, while hot water was just a dream.  Completing this project took some time and a little bit of capital but the payback in making dormitory students’ life a little bit better was payback enough for us.

ECD Center in Rushan, Tajikistan

Our NGO is proud to have established an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Center in Rushan, Tajikistan. This center serves as a nurturing environment where young children can receive quality early education, laying the foundation for their future academic and personal success. The ECD Center is equipped with modern facilities and staffed by trained educators who provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for the children.

Remote Education Center in Rushan, Tajikistan

Recognizing the challenges faced by remote communities in accessing education, we have set up a Remote Education Center in Rushan, Tajikistan. This center utilizes technology to connect students with quality educational resources and qualified teachers. Through virtual classrooms and interactive learning modules, students in these underserved areas can now receive a well-rounded education, empowering them to reach their full potential.

Well in Gahkuch for a Girl’s Dormitory

Access to clean water is a fundamental necessity for any community’s well-being. In Gahkuch, Northern Pakistan, we have constructed a well to ensure a sustainable water source for a Girl’s Dormitory. This project not only addresses the immediate water needs of the dormitory but also benefits the surrounding community. Clean water promotes better health, hygiene, and overall quality of life for the residents, particularly the young girls residing in the dormitory.

Procuring Land for School Expansion – Sherqilla, Gilgit

To accommodate the growing educational needs of the community in Sherqilla, Gilgit, our NGO has undertaken the important task of procuring land for school expansion. This expansion project aims to provide additional classrooms, facilities, and resources to accommodate more students and enhance the learning environment. By investing in education infrastructure, we create opportunities for children to receive a quality education and unlock their potential.

Procuring Land for Dormitory – Sherqilla, Gilgit

Recognizing the need for safe and supportive living conditions for students pursuing education away from home, we are procuring land for a dormitory in Sherqilla, Gilgit. This dormitory will provide a comfortable and secure space for students, particularly those from remote areas, to reside while attending school. By eliminating barriers to education, such as distance and lack of suitable accommodations, we empower students to focus on their studies and thrive academically.

Through our Capital Projects, we strive to uplift communities and create sustainable change. These infrastructure investments are aimed at improving the quality of education, enhancing living conditions, and fostering a conducive environment for growth and development. By joining hands with us, you become a catalyst for positive transformation and contribute to building a brighter future for the people of Tajikistan and Northern Pakistan.
